Cristiano Ronaldo returned to training with Real Madrid on Thursday after a brief bout of the flu. It was a light training session alongside returning injured players.

He missed out on a friendly between Portugal and Liechtenstein earlier this week, but should be back to full training sessions with Real Madrid the following week.

Cristiano Ronaldo is suffering from the flu. He apparently became sick during his stay in Washington.

Some people have suggested that Cristiano Ronaldo has become the latest person to catch the swine flu, but Real Madrid spokespeople have been quick to quash those speculations. According Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo has caught a strain of the “regular” flu and should recover in the next several days.

Cristiano Ronaldo will miss tomorrow’s friendly between Portugal and Liechtenstein, and will most likely also miss Real’s next pre-season friendly which takes place on Saturday.
