Cristiano Ronaldo Becomes CR9
Real Madrid has finally officially welcomed the Portuguese ace at the Bernabeu. The stadium was filled with 80 thousand cheering fans. Many fans were waving Madeira and Portugal flags which made Cristiano Ronaldo very proud.
Cristiano Ronaldo chose the number 9 Madrid jersey which was also worn by another very famous Ronaldo not that long ago, but Cristiano Ronaldo insists that he is very proud to the wear the same jersey as Madrid ace, Di Stefano.
Before Cristiano Ronaldo answered any questions from the media, he put on the uniform for the first time and walked around the pitch while clapping his hands towards the cheering fans.
Police had to stop a fan from reaching Cristiano Ronaldo, after the fan jumped onto the pitch and ran towards him.
Ronaldo hugged several people while on the pitch, including another Portuguese ace by the name of Eusebio who was present for the ceremony.
Cristiano Ronaldo said during the interview that he believed that Madrid paid a “right price” for him and that he was going to try and proof that fact.
He also had a few chuckles when asked if he believed that he would receive better protection from the La Liga’s referees as opposed to the referees in the Premier League. Cristiano Ronaldo happily replied that the referees in the Premier League are very nice, but La Liga has unbelievable referees.
Cristiano Ronaldo also publicly thanked all the Manchester United supporters back in England, but says that he believed that they understood his reasons for leaving the club.
All and all, it has been a very hectic couple of days for the World’s most expensive football player. Cristiano Ronaldo unofficially stated this fact by saying that he plans to sleep as he is extremely tired.
